Former NFL star Asante Samuel got into a heated war of words with several members of the far right after taking an unsubtle shot at President Donald Trump and the MAGA movement.

Taking to social media on Sunday, Samuel — who slammed Tom Brady once the FOX Sports analyst refused to back his former team in Super Bowl LX last month — implied that Trump’s followers would believe practically anything that the 79-year-old claimed to be true. “If Trump told you there was a NFL game tomorrow you would believe it,” Samuel wrote on X alongside three laughing emojis.

In a separate post, Samuel additionally weighed in on the multi-hour wait times at airports across the country. The long queues outside of security are primarily due to the nationwide shortage of unpaid TSA officers amidst an ongoing partial government shutdown.

Samuel appeared to suggest that MAGA supporters were to blame for the seemingly neverending lines at Atlanta Airport, resharing a clip of the scene with the caption: “Y'all voted for this mess.”

Droves of apparent Trump voters rushed to the comment section, where they clapped back at Samuel’s comments.

“The people who voted Democrat caused this mess, because Democrats are the ones shutting down the country in order to protect open borders,” one X user said.

Yet Samuel doubled down on his criticism of Trump, replying: “Any other President wouldn’t have all this chaos happening #facts.”

Another person claimed that Samuel was no longer relevant given that his NFL career ended in 2013, writing: “Some of y'all just talk too much! thinking your stardom still matters, it doesn't! Truth over money and that's how we're carrying it.”

The former cornerback once again took note of the backlash, responding: “Then tell truth p---…”

Someone else poked fun at Samuel’s intelligence, commenting: “Great CB , Low IQ.” Going off the verbal jab, the 45-year-old hit back: “Cool beard, terrible man.”

One day later, Samuel provided his two cents on the ongoing conflict in Iran. The two-time Super Bowl champion shared a clip in which Trump claimed that the United States held productive talks with Iranian leaders regarding a peace deal.

"Tomorrow morning, we were expected to blow up their largest electric generating plants that cost over $10 billion to build,” Trump said. “One shot. It's gone. It collapses. Why would they want that? So they called. I didn't call. They called. They want to make a deal.

“We are very willing to make a deal. It’s gotta be a good deal, and it’s gotta be no more wars, no more nuclear weapons. They’re not gonna have nuclear weapons anymore, they’re agreeing to that. Any of that stuff, there’s no deal.”

Samuel, for one, was left unimpressed. “The biggest mess,” he wrote. “He’s ending the war. Tax payers money gone done the drain.”
