The French superstar dropped three bold arguments why he deserves to be the NBA MVP of this 2025-26 season.
Victor Wembanyama believes that he is simply the NBA's best player this 2025-26 season.
Following another masterful performance to lead the San Antonio Spurs' 136-111 Monday win over the Miami Heat, Wembanyama made it clear that his goal is to be the main favorite to win the MVP award once the season ends.
"I have thought about it. I think right now there is a debate that should be, even though I think I should lead the race, and I’m trying to make sure that until the end of the season, there’s no debate anymore," he told reporters after a dominant 26-point, 15-rebound, 5-block performance against the Heat.
When asked to make his case as the frontrunner for MVP honors, the French superstar pointed to three key arguments: being the most impactful defensive player in the NBA, dominating the reigning champion OKC Thunder in their regular-season matchups, and emphasizing that “offensive impact is not just points.”
