Former NFL legend Tom Brady may be getting involved in the wrestling industry based on how negotiations with WWE go. Wrestling fans have taken note of Brady randomly insulting wrestlers and the wrestling industry after a conversation with Logan Paul. Brady took exception to Paul claiming it would be easier to be a successful football player than a wrestler based on the athleticism involved.

Wrestling insider Dave Meltzer reported the following news about rumors that Brady is intentionally making these comments with a WWE pay off in mind:

“From what I have been told, they are in negotiations with Tom Brady, but there is absolutely not a deal at this point for Tom Brady. So, it could happen. Obviously, Logan Paul and Tom Brady are working. I mean, everyone knows they’re working the angle, I think people have seen that coming in.

But there could be something in some form at WrestleMania, it would not be a surprise. And what they did in the football game was clearly to build it. Just as all the talk of, you know, Tom Brady cutting down pro wrestlers and the wrestlers all responding, that is all storyline.”

Meltzer claims that Brady and WWE are talking about an appearance, but nothing is currently in place. An agreement on terms and plans must be reached before Brady appears at WrestleMania 42.

Why WWE Tom Brady Appearing Makes Sense

Brady’s critical comments about football being tougher than wrestling were likely true since Paul was being insulting first. The general persona of Paul often sees him grating others with seemingly disrespectful comments.

However, Brady and Paul gaining strong media coverage for their disagreement clearly led to more planned drama between the two via their Fanatics flag football game. Paul continuing to play things up for the camera led to Brady doing the same with his wrestling comments.

WWE’s timing of the massive WrestleMania 42 event coming up in April could see the former New England Patriots quarterback joining the long list of many celebrities to appear at the event. Meltzer cited that Brady’s insulting comments are made within the confines of playing a character and he obviously respects the athletes involved in WWE.

Would Tom Brady Wrestle For WWE?

Most WWE celebrity appearances come in non-wrestling roles since it is easy to find a fitting situation for someone in the scripted nature. However, recent history has seen Logan Paul and Bad Bunny having highly successful in-ring matches.

Paul did so well that WWE became a full-time gig with many matches throughout each year. Former NFL star Lawrence Taylor set a precedent for football players wrestling when he appeared at WrestleMania 11 in a main event match against Bam Bam Bigelow to merge sports cultures.

Brady is athletic enough and in good enough shape to learn wrestling skills if he truly wanted to. However, a lot of time and commitment is required for a celebrity to find success wrestling live matches. Brady still needs to agree to term with WWE before he even appears in a speaking role at WrestleMania or any other show.
