Chelsea could have a decision to make regarding the long-term future of the player this summer
Chelsea defender Josh Acheampong is being ‘monitored’ by Liverpool and Newcastle United ahead of the summer, according to CaughtOffside. The report adds that Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund are also interestd in the player. His contract at Stamford Bridge expires in June 2029.
Liam Rosenior’s side were beaten 3-0 away by Everton last time out. They are sat in 6th place in the Premier League table as they aim to get into the Champions League positions. The London outfit are back in action after the international break against Port Vale in the FA Cup.

Chelsea have a decision to make regarding the immediate future of Acheampong amid attention from the likes of Liverpool and Newcastle. The 19-year-old is versatile and can play in the heart of defence or as a full-back if needed. He has been on the books of his current club for his whole career to date.
The England youth international has risen up through the academy of the Blues. He was a regular at various diferent youth levels before making the step up into the first-team set up. The prospect was handed his senior debut in May 2024 in a league match against rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
Acheampong hasn’t looked back since and has since made 38 appearances in all competitions, 24 of which have come in this campaign. It remains to be seen whether he will still be with Chelsea come next term though. Liverpool and Newcastle could both see him as someone to bolster their backline.
Speaking after their loss to Everton, Rosenior said: "My job, it hurts. Regardless of your position, it hurts to lose games of football. Yeah, the most disappointing evening so far in terms of the things we've spoken about, not gifting goals away and making sure we're in the game, getting control of the game.
"It wasn't there and it turned into a really difficult evening where the result and performance was nowhere near what we expected or wanted. In terms of moving forward we're one point away from the Champions League position. We need to keep working in this way."
