Stefon Diggs of the New England Patriots
The Buffalo Bills had to face former receiver Stefon Diggs twice last season after he signed with the rival New England Patriots, and one analyst believes he could soon be headed to a different AFC contender.
The Patriots cut ties with Diggs this offseason, cutting the receiver in a cap-saving move after his bounce-back season. Diggs showed that he was fully healed from a season-ending injury in 2024 as he helped quarterback Drake Maye take a major leap, ultimately leading the Patriots to a Super Bowl appearance.
A new report predicts that Diggs could stay in the AFC for his next destination, joining a team that has become a familiar playoff opponent for the Bills.
Stefon Diggs Could Face Bills Again This Year
Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox broke down the most likely destination for some of the top remaining NFL free agents. He noted that the Baltimore Ravens would be the best fit for Diggs, where he could become a steady target for quarterback Lamar Jackson.
“Diggs would be a perfect addition for the Baltimore Ravens, who tried to roll with veteran DeAndre Hopkins last year but got underwhelming results (330 yards, 2 TDs),” Knox wrote. “Diggs would be a great go-to target for Lamar Jackson and a strong complement to Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman.”
The Bills have faced the Ravens twice in the playoffs over the last six seasons and squared off in the regular season often, with the pair set to play again in 2026. Knox noted that despite bouncing back from a knee injury that cut short his 2024 campaign with the Houston Texans, Diggs still faces some question marks surrounding his off-the-field troubles.
‘This past season, the 32-year-old wasn’t as explosive as he was before his 2024 ACL tear,” Kox wrote. “Diggs is also facing an ongoing legal battle stemming from the alleged assault of his personal chef. However, he also topped 1,000 yards while serving as New England’s top receiver in 2025, and he may be a little quicker with another year between him and the injury.”
Other Destinations for Stefon Diggs
Diggs has faced some other predictions on his future, including a potential reunion with a former Bills coach. Bleacher Reports Knox also suggested he could land with the Tennessee Titans, who hired former Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll to lead their offense.
“The Tennessee Titans could also give Diggs a strong landing spot,” Knox wrote. “Second-year quarterback Cam Ward could use more receiving help on the perimeter. New offensive coordinator Brian Daboll also previously coached Diggs with the Buffalo Bills.”
The Bills adopted a new approach after trading Diggs in March 2024, spreading out targets to a wider group of pass-catchers in what they called an “everybody eats” offense. While it brought strong results in 2024, the Bills struggled on offense throughout 2025 as the receivers often failed to get separation.
The Bills have already worked on rectifying the problem, landing wide receiver DJ Moore in a trade with the Chicago Bears. Many insiders believe the Bills could also use their first-round draft pick to add more wide receiving talent.
