Report: Everton's current stance on signing Tyrique George on permanent deal from Chelsea

Everton signed Tyrique George on an initial loan from Chelsea in the January transfer window.

Tyrique George was signed after Jack Grealish’s season-ending injury, and many expected him to play a key role for Everton until the end of the season.

However, the 20-year-old winger has hardly been given a chance under David Moyes, having started just one Premier League game.

How do you feel about Moyes’ treatment of Tyrique George? 🫣

The Toffees do have an option to buy clause in George’s contract, and with that said, a report has just revealed the club’s stance on activating that in the summer.

Everton unlikely to sign Tyrique George on a permanent deal

According to the Daily Mail, George is ‘likely’ to return to Chelsea at the end of his Everton loan.

The expectation is that the Toffees will decide against making his loan deal permanent and instead look at other options.

Crysencio Summerville has been linked to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, and so too has Stoke City’s Sorba Thomas.

So it appears Moyes and his recruitment staff are already eyeing potential replacements for George.

The Mail have also reported that there is uncertainty surrounding a permanent deal for Jack Grealish.

It’s understood that Everton may not be able to afford the financial package required to sign the Manchester City star.

According to Capology, the 30-year-old earns around £300,000-a-week with the Citizens, so that’d have to be negotiated down.

Plus, his £50m buy-option would also need to be negotiated, with Everton fans believing they should pay no more than £25m for Grealish.
