“Smith Still Has Another Year”: Joel Klatt Would Have Ohio State Buckeyes WR Jeremiah Smith as…

Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Jeremiah Smith will be entering his junior season in 2026. There are a lot of people who were impressed with him as a freshman. Smith helped lead Ohio State to a national title. If he was eligible to be drafted now, there is no doubt he would be a top five pick, but Smith has one more year until he can go into the NFL.

Joel Klatt of FOX Sports created a 2026 NFL Mock Draft based upon all college football players whether they are eligible for the draft this year or not. Had Smith been eligible, he would have Smith being drafted fourth overall by the Tennessee Titans. Klatt said,

“Don’t the Titans need the best offensive player available? That’s what Smith would be at this point in the draft. The Titans get to give quarterbackCam Wardthe best threat possible in this hypothetical. Even though Smith still has another year to play in college, I think he’s going to immediately be one of the best receivers in the NFL the moment he enters the league. I think he can also be one of the better receivers we’ve had this generation.”

The truth is, would Smith have even been available to Tennessee fourth overall? The New York Jets at number two or the Arizona Cardinals at number three would most likely draft him. The Las Vegas Raiders would no doubt still draft a quarterback number one overall. There is a very good chance in the 2027 NFL Draft that Smith winds up in the top five. He is the most pro ready wide receiver since Ja’Marr Chase.
