The Seahawks’ entire 2026 free agent class is now accounted for

Technically speaking, the 2026 NFL league year kicked off on Mar. 11. We’re less than two weeks removed from the official start of free agency, and the Seattle Seahawks’ entire free agent class from their active roster + injury reserve lists have now either remained in Seattle or have taken their talents elsewhere.

The Seahawks have had about as uncomplicated a free agency as you could get. There were only nine unrestricted free agents, six restricted free agents, and two exclusive rights free agents at the end of Seattle’s Super Bowl winning season.

It should be noted that Shane Lemieux, Quandre Diggs, Shaquill Griffin, Courtney Jackson (who’s since signed with the New York Giants), and Shemar Jean Charles (who was re-signed) were the five practice squad players—in Lemieux’s case, practice squad injured reserve—who were not signed to reserve/future contracts. Once the practice squad dissolves, any unsigned players immediately become street free agents, which means they’re immediately available on the market and don’t have to wait for the next league year.

While Seattle did part ways with most of their highest profile free agents, including the Super Bowl 60 MVP, 13 of 18 scheduled free agents still re-signed.

I guess this means that the main focus for the Seahawks from now until April 23 is going to be almost entirely about the NFL Draft. Oh yeah, and maybe a Devon Witherspoon extension to go along with the one Jaxon Smith-Njigba just got.
