The day was not only a chance to make a good impression with some scouts but it was also one last chance for the Lobos to share the field with their teammates.
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Some University of New Mexico Lobo football players hit the field at University Stadium one last time Monday.
UNM hosted its Pro Day, where 17 former players went through tests and drills to show off their skills in front of NFL scouts from 15 different teams.
For Lobos like Keagan Johnson and Keyshawn Newby, the day was also one last chance to share the field with their teammates.
“You basically go from a family to never seeing each other. So it was just beautiful that I got to reconnect with everyone and everyone had a great day out here,” Johnson said.
“Super happy I finished my collegiate career here. I love university and I love the fanbase too. Memorable. It just sticks with you. It’s like a foundation and you see all your guys that you work so hard with and then we all put it out here. So it was, it was sweet,” Newby said.
The draft will run from April 23-25.
