Bleacher Report's Moe Moton argued Dan Campbell and the Detroit Lions should inquire about Jacksonville Jaguars offensive tackle Walker Little.

The Detroit Lions have already acquired an offensive lineman through a trade this offseason. On Tuesday, Bleacher Report’s Moe Moton called on the team trading for another — Walker Little.

On a list naming 10 trades NFL contenders should consider, Moton proposed the Lions acquire Little from the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The BR analyst sees Little as an option for Detroit to replace departed left tackle Taylor Decker.

“Before free agency, the Detroit Lions released longtime offensive tackle Taylor Decker, creating a void on quarterback Jared Goff’s blind side. They signed Larry Borom, but he’s a placeholder and has been on three teams in three years,” wrote Moton.

“The Lions can aim higher for a better upgrade at a premium position to protect Goff, who’s not fleet of foot. They could land Walker Little, who lost his starting job at left tackle to Cole Van Lanen at the end of the previous season.”

Although he lost his starting left tackle job last season, Little still made 14 starts in 2025. He’s started 39 games in his five-year NFL career.

There’s nothing very small about Little. He stands at 6-foot-7 and 313 pounds. The tackle also features 33 and three-quarter inch arms with a wingspan nearly 82 inches.

Why the Lions Should Trade for Walker Little

The Lions created cap space with Decker’s departure, but it’s also left Detroit with another hole on the offensive line.

Two years ago, the Lions featured one of the best lines in the league. But center Frank Ragnow retired after 2024, setting off a negative chain reaction. Veteran interior lineman Graham Glasgow slid to center while the Lions started two young guards.

In addition to Decker, Detroit also released Glasgow. The team only has tackle Penei Sewell remaining from its 2024 offensive line.

This offseason, pundits have speculated that the Lions could flip Sewell from right to left tackle. That would place Detroit’s best lineman in the most important spot.

It would also be easier to find a right tackle in free agency.

But if the Lions don’t want to disrupt Sewell, they could target another veteran such as Little. Moton sees him as an upgrade over the other tackles Detroit has acquired this offseason.

The Lions landed tackle Juice Scruggs in a trade involving running back David Montgomery in early March. The team then signed Larry Borom in NFL free agency.

Borom has started 38 games in his five-year NFL career.

Borom is in line to start for the Lions next season unless they add another tackle this offseason.

Will the Lions Draft a Tackle in the 2026 NFL Draft?

The Lions already have five tackles and maybe one other lineman capable of playing tackle on their roster. They might only have space to make one more significant acquisition at tackle this offseason.

If that’s the case, the Lions trading for Little becomes a lot less likely. A lot of pundits expect Detroit to target a tackle early in the NFL Draft.

NFL.com’s Chad Reuter predicted on March 20 the Lions will move up four spots to draft Utah’s Spencer Fano.

Also during the second week of free agency, NFL.com’s Eric Edholm slotted Georgia tackle Monroe Freeling to the Lions at No. 17 overall.

If the Lions prefer developing their own prospect at tackle, they should draft a first-round tackle. Until that prospect is ready, Borom appears capable of being a stopgap.

That leaves the Lions having little use for Little.

But if Detroit prefers a veteran tackle to immediately help the team’s offensive line, a Little trade could be on the table.
