The Atlanta Falcons needed to fill an opening on the RB depth chart.
Tyler Allgeier left in free agency, and so behind Bijan Robinson, there was a need.
Brian Robinson is coming to town to take over that role. The former Washington Commanders and San Francisco 49ers RB is signing with the Falcons, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz.
He brings a similar player type to Allgeier as a bruising, 225-pound RB.
Robinson was originally a third-round pick by the Commanders in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Alabama.
He finished with between 700 and 800 yards in each of his three seasons with the Commanders.

In 2024, Robinson ran 187 times for 799 yards (4.3 yards per carry) and eight touchdowns in what turned out to be his final season in Washington.
The Commanders traded Robinson to the 49ers during the 2025 preseason, and he got into all 17 regular season games with the 'Niners. Given that he was backing up Christian McCaffrey, he played less, but he still ran 92 times for 400 yards (4.3 ypc).
Robinson just turned 27 years old on March 22 and likely entered the offseason hoping to find a bigger role. Not everyone is seeking such an RB these days, anyway.
So Robinson had to settle for making it the double B-Robinson backfield with Bijan. Atlanta will hope that it's the perfect pairing.
