Liam Rosenior will not be relieved of his duties as Chelsea head coach even if the club fails to secure Champions League qualification.

Four consecutive defeats for Rosenior's team have raised questions about the 41-year-old's suitability for the role. However, the Blues have no intention of formally assessing his position until the summer of 2027.

Short of a remarkable collapse from Chelsea between now and the campaign's conclusion, Rosenior is due to remain in the dugout next term. He has held the Blues head coach position for fewer than three months after succeeding Enzo Maresca following the Italian's shocking exit on New Year's Day.

Chelsea are aiming to secure Champions League football for the second consecutive season. However, recent results, dropping their previous two Premier League fixtures, have complicated that objective.

Fortunately for the Blues, those surrounding them have failed to capitalise on the west Londoners' disappointing form.

Nevertheless, even if Chelsea cannot finish in the top five, Rosenior, who signed a six-and-a-half-year deal in January, is still regarded as the right person to guide the club forward.

The Blues are ready to support Rosenior in the market. He is already collaborating alongside the club's sporting directors ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.

Chelsea are due to be active off the pitch when the window opens, with several crucial positions slated for attention. Sources at Stamford Bridge informed football.london of their intentions to recruit a new centre-back, midfielder and forward in the summer.

Rosenior described the defeat to Everton last time out as "the most disappointing evening so far". He added: "In terms of the things we've spoken about, not gifting goals away and making sure we're in the game, getting control of the game.

"It wasn't there, and it turned into a really, really difficult evening where the result and performance were nowhere near what we expected or wanted.

"It's a disappointing time for the club at the moment in terms of the way we lost in the Champions League and the way we've lost the last two games. My job, it hurts.

"Regardless of your position, it hurts to lose games of football. In terms of moving forward and having this time is to look at the bigger picture. We're one point away from the Champions League position.

"We need to keep working in this way. We need to keep giving the players as much confidence as possible, and hopefully, this break of games now for us comes at a really good moment."
