Chicago Bears set to host intriguing DT prospect for top 30 visit

CHICAGO, Ill., — With just under a month to go until the 2026 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears have some needs to fill on defense still. Picking at No. 25 overall, the Bears will have options to address safety, defensive back, edge rusher, and even defensive tackle.

During the NFL Scouting Combine, Ryan Poles noted that the best player available is his strategy when picking in these spots during the draft. Whether he sticks true to that is still to be seen. As we continue on with draft prep, one prospect revealed he has a top 30 visit with the Bears.

In an interview with Justin Melo of Sports Illustrated, Ohio State defensive tackle Kayden McDonald revealed some of the teams he met with and who he has top 30 visits with. He told Melo that he's basically met with every team so far whether it be at the Combine in terms of informal or formal. In terms of top 30 visits, he told Melo who he is set to meet with:

I've been on Top 30 visits. I have one with the Bengals, New England Patriots, Las Vegas Raiders, Houston Texans, Miami Dolphins, Washington Commanders, Ravens, Bears.

Every team that needs a physical defensive tackle has been in touch with me.

It's not a surprise the Bears are bringing in McDonald for a top 30. They have a need at defensive tackle and getting him into Halas Hall is something they can do to find out more about him in the predraft process.

His tape is impressive at Ohio State and there's a lot to like about his game and potential as a pro.

McDonald will be a first-round pick come April's draft. For the Bears, the decision they could face is take him and try to upgrade the defensive tackle spot after adding three free agents, or wait to see how the board falls on day two.
