'Unbelievable': Everton's 'Bambi on ice' looked a totally different player vs Chelsea, says…

Everton produced one of their best performances of the season against Chelsea, and Carlton Cole was blown away by Beto.

David Moyes’ side made it back-to-back wins at Hill Dickinson Stadium for the first time, and were fully worth the three points.

Everton fans, who was your standout performer in the 3-0 win over Chelsea?

So many unbelievable Toffees performers at HDS!

The Toffees were too hot for Chelsea to handle, with the pressing and intensity perhaps better than in any other game this season.

And, refreshingly, Everton were ruthless when the chances came – and it was great to see Beto get on the scoresheet not once, but twice.

It was his first brace for over a year, and Carlton Cole could barely believe how good he was.

Beto earned some nice praise from Moyes after the game, and many fans have also hailed the Guinea-Bissau striker.

The 28-year-old has had his fair share of critics during his time at Everton.

But every now and then he shows how much of a handful he can be – and Cole was left amazed by his display against Chelsea.

He said on The Dressing Room podcast: “Beto was unbelievable as well. Unbelievable. I call him Bambi on ice because usually he’s like really leggy and everything.

“Mate, I couldn’t believe it. I was thinking, this is not the same player. Made him look like Prime R9.

Beto, I’m sorry, you’re a good player, but prime R9 you are not.”

There is no denying that Chelsea were really poor at Hill Dickinson Stadium, and they clearly have issues right now.

But you cannot take anything away from Beto, who could not be contained.

His first goal was actually underrated. To stab that ball over the onrushing Robert Sanchez was a show of real quality.

Should Everton actually be getting Beto tied down to a new contract? 🤔

He'll only have a year left this summer…

The assist for Iliman Ndiaye was also great, and we need to see more of that given how physically imposing he is.

After that brace, Beto is now bearing down on his own personal record of eight Premier League goals, and hopefully he can equal or surpass it in the remaining seven matches.
