“Feels So Performative”: Fans React As Dan Orlovsky Claims NFL GM’s Support for Ty Simpson As…

Ty Simpson has found one of his biggest endorsers in ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky, who has been claiming the former Alabama star’s greatness, while labeling him the best quarterback in the 2026 NFL Draft.

While Indiana star Fernando Mendoza is projected to be the No.1 overall pick and the QB1 in the 2026 NFL Draft, Orlovsky argues that there’s not much difference between Simpson and him and that the former Crimson Tide star is a better quarterback because of a few of his abilities.

Orlovsky has pointed out that he believes Simpson was able to do more with much less support from his teammates, compared to Mendoza, and also said that the Alabama star makes more NFL-style throws.

The ESPN analyst also says he believes Simpson works better in moments of panic, whereas Mendoza, who has not seen many of those, ends up running onto the field to tackle.

Orlovsky doubled down on his statement again on Tuesday and said that he texted 12-15 NFL GMs and asked if they think Simpson is the best quarterback in the draft, and claimed that only two of them disagreed.

“Genuinely dont follow draft stuff that close but the whole “i texted GMs” thing always feels so performative like whos really responding to dan orlovsky texts in march.” one fan reacted.

“Did you hear what he said. They gave him like a thumbs up or gif. That means they could be like dude just leave me tf alone. Thumbs up could be like I acknowledge you now leave me alone. Lol. This shit so dumb.” another fan wrote.

“Yeah I’m sure more than half the league of people that make decisions personal wise gave Dan orlovsky their number.. I’m sure.. only retards like hondo carpenter say things like this and they’re liars and losers.” another fan added.

“the “i texted GMs” genre of sports reporting is so weird to me like is that just how the nfl works everyone just texting each other random scouting takes.” Another fan shared their thoughts.

“We all watched him play, he’s at Alabama with crazy talent and support and he couldn’t make the plays that counted when they needed it. That’s why the heisman guy is the number 1 QB.” another fan pointed out.

“Did he also tell you that him and Ty Simpson share the same agency? Reminds me of the current Chargers coach who praised his college QB who is failing with the Vikings.” another fan highlighted.

Insider’s Honest Take on if Jets Should Pick Ty Simpson As No.16th Overall Pick

Rich Cimini recently discussed whether the New York Jets should pick Ty Simpson as the No.16th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft as projected by Mel Kiper Jr. in his latest mock draft.

While Mel Kiper Jr. believes the move makes sense as the franchise has Geno Smith for the upcoming season and three first round picks to choose a quarterback in 2027 if things don’t workout with Simpson, however, Cimini had a different take.

Cimini highlighted that the Jets need to fill the wide receiver spot first as they need a good player at that position and said that the franchise might b picking Simpson mostly because they believe he would go to the Steelers a couple of spots later.

“You’re probably doing to doing it to prevent another team from grabbing him, which is not how you want to be in the draft. How you want to be in the draft is you want to be able to just grab the best player at the pick that you’re at.”

Cimini concluded by saying if Simpson turns out to be a good quarterback down the road, it wouldn’t matter where the former Alabama star was drafted to begin with.
