Jaxson Dart snubbed in recent QB rankings despite showing promise in shortened rookie campaign.

Upon taking over for Russell Wilson in the early stages of last season, Jaxson Dart shined as the hopeful long-term answer for the New York Giants at quarterback. Despite showing a lot of promise as a rookie, the former first-round pick has a ways to go before he’s viewed in the same tier as his peers.

On the March 22nd episode of “The Arena: Gridiron,” the panel gave their personal rankings of the starting quarterbacks of the NFC East. While there were some disagreements regarding placement, they all agreed on one thing. That being that Dart belongs on the bottom of the list.

Dart started 12 games for the Giants last season after jumping Wilson on the depth chart. He’d post a 4-8 record in this stretch while throwing for over 2,200 yards and 15 touchdowns. Dart’s standout showing as a rookie came in Week 7 against the Denver Broncos, when he erupted for 283 yards and three touchdowns in what ended up being a one-point loss for the Giants.

Armed with a new head coach and some exciting additions to the offense, Dart will look to elevate his play in what will be his first full season under center.

Jaxson Dart Excited to Play for Giants New Head Coach

As he prepares for his sophomore campaign, Dart has some adjusting to do following personnel changes within the organization. In the early stages of his pro career, he already finds himself playing for his second head coach.

After departing with Brian Daboll in 2025, the Giants entered the offseason in search of a replacement. They’d end up landing arguably the biggest name on the market, inking Jon Harbaugh to a deal.

Given his track record in the NFL, many in and around the Giants are excited to see what Harbaugh will bring to the franchise. While on the “Pro Football Talk” show last month, Dart gave his thoughts on the notable addition.

“He’s the best, I’m excited. I can’t wait to get rolling with him,” Dart said. “He’s a man that can create a great culture. I think he’s well respected far beyond the teams he’s coached. Everybody that knows him or have been around him from a league standpoint, everybody respects him.”

Harbaugh had the services of a dynamic QB in Lamar Jackson during his tenure with the Baltimore Ravens. Now, he’ll have another intriguing talent at his disposal in Dart.

Jaxson Dart Taking in MMA Action During Offseason

Following his rookie season, Dart has been hard at work in hopes of bursting on the scene in year two for the Giants. With OTAs just around the corner, he was seen taking in a unique form of offseason training.

In the modern era of sports, players find countless different sources of motivation when it comes to training. In Dart’s case, mixed martial arts appears to be the answer for him.

On March 24th, videos emerged online of Dart soaking in a training session of MMA fighter Khamzat Chimaev and his team.
