The debate over the top quarterback in the NFC East has resurfaced following a recent ranking from former NFL defensive back Aqib Talib. His evaluation placed Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts ahead of Dallas Cowboys star Dak Prescott, sparking discussion among fans.
Talib pointed to Hurts’ overall body of work as the deciding factor in his ranking. Over the past few seasons, Hurts has established himself as one of the most consistent and productive quarterbacks in the conference.

Hurts’ ability to impact the game both as a passer and a runner has elevated his profile within the league. His leadership and postseason success have further strengthened the case for his position at the top of the division.
Prescott, however, remains a highly accomplished quarterback with a strong track record of regular-season production. His efficiency and command of the Cowboys’ offense continue to make him one of the most reliable starters in the NFL.

“With that said, I’m gonna go with Jalen Hurts at number one. Nobody has a better body of work than him. Next, I’m gonna go Dak,” Talib said.
The comparison between the two quarterbacks reflects contrasting strengths, with Hurts offering dynamic versatility and Prescott providing steady performance. Both players have led their teams to competitive seasons, adding weight to the ongoing debate.
As the new season approaches, the rivalry between Hurts and Prescott is expected to remain a focal point in the NFC East. Their performances will ultimately determine how the rankings evolve in a division defined by high expectations and close competition.
