Warriors lose key contributor for rest of season due to devastating knee injury

The Golden State Warriors will be without another key contributor for the remainder of the regular season and any potential postseason play.

Following a devastating knee injury suffered against the Dallas Mavericks on Monday night, tests confirmed that Warriors forward Moses Moody suffered a torn left patellar tendon, according to ESPN.

Moses Moody out for season with torn left patellar tendon

Moody, who is expected to undergo surgery on Thursday, will join Jimmy Butler on the sideline in Golden State. Butler is also sidelined for the rest of the season due to torn right ACL suffered in January.

Moody has had tough luck when it comes to injury issues as of late. He had just returned from a 10-game absence due to a right wrist sprain and in his first game back he suffered the knee injury.

Given the timing and severity of the injury, Moody's availability for the 2026-27 NBA season could be impacted.

On the season, Moody averaged 12.1 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.0 steals in 60 games for Golden State. Those numbers all represented career highs for Moody.

This story will be updated.
