The Cleveland Browns need as much, or more, wide receiver help as any team in the NFL, and considering their long-documented struggles attracting high-end free agents, the team is probably going to have to get creative.
Nick Pedone of ON SI suggested a reunion with wideout Odell Beckham Jr. on Tuesday, March 24 following a report from Jordan Schultz that Beckham has spurred “renewed interest” around the league due to his recent foray into the world of competitive flag football.
“Free agent WR Odell Beckham Jr. has received renewed interest in recent days after his showing at Tom Brady’s Fanatics flag football game,” Schultz posted to X. “Beckham was one of the most impressive players on the field and fully intends to play in 2026, per sources.”
“The Browns need help at wide receiver, and [Beckham] played for Todd Monken once before…” Pedone captioned a repost of Schultz’s report.

Beckham earned Pro-Bowl honors in each of his first three professional campaigns, all as a member of the New York Giants, as well as the Offensive Rookie of the Year award in 2014.
The Giants traded Beckham to Cleveland in March 2019, where the wideout played for two and a half years. All told, he produced 114 catches for 1,586 yards and seven TDs with the Browns across 29 games played (28 starts).
Injuries impacted Beckham’s performance and availability in 2020, while conflict with the coaching staff and quarterback Baker Mayfield led Cleveland to trade Beckham to the Los Angeles Rams during the middle of the 2021 campaign.
Beckham was instrumental during the Rams’ postseason run that year and ultimately captured a Super Bowl ring with L.A. However, he suffered a torn ACL late in the first half of the title contest against the Cincinnati Bengals and missed the entirety of 2022 due to injury.
Upon healing, Beckham joined the Baltimore Ravens in 2023, where he played for new Browns head coach Todd Monken. Monken was in his first season as Baltimore’s offensive coordinator that year.
Beckham played 14 games for the Ravens, starting six of them. He then joined the Miami Dolphins in 2024, appearing in nine total contests. However, he saw just 18 targets and made only nine receptions for 55 yards. Beckham did not play a regular-season NFL snap last year.

All told, Beckham has tallied 575 catches for 7,987 receiving yards and 59 touchdowns. If he plays in the league next season, he will do so at 33 years old before turning 34 in early November.
Beckham has earned just over $108 million across his 10-year professional career. Spotrac does not currently have a market value projection listed for him, but Beckham inked a one-year deal worth $3 million to join the Dolphins in March 2024.
Given Beckham’s circumstances, it is possible that a team like Cleveland could land him on a one-year contract for the veterans league minimum.
It is also worth noting that the NFL suspended Beckham for six games in 2025 for violating its performance-enhancing drug policy.
