Encouraging Jarrett Allen injury Cavs update announced by Kenny Atkinson

Allen (knee) has ramped up and could make his return sooner for the Cavs.

Jarrett Allen is heading in the right direction, with a potential return now on the horizon sooner.

Cleveland Cavaliers / Schedule

In his pregame speech before the Cleveland Cavaliers' Tuesday clash against the Orlando Magic, head coach Kenny Atkinson revealed that Allen has ramped up his work, and he expects the star big man to return in the next couple of games.

“He’s ramped it up in the past few days," Atkinson said about Allen's ongoing rehabilitation, per Cavaliers reporter Danny Cunningham. "Trending positive.”

Allen has missed the last nine games for the Cavs. He sustained a right knee tendinitis and has been out since March 3 against the Detroit Pistons, where he suffered from the injury.

The Cleveland center is averaging 15.3 points, 8.5 rebounds and 1.9 blocks across 51 games this season.

His looming comeback would be huge for the Cavaliers' desire to build momentum heading to the final weeks of the regular season before the NBA Playoffs.
