The franchise guard continues to make progress in his recovery from a UCL sprain in his left elbow. After a recent evaluation addressing lingering discomfort, doctors recommended a PRP (platelet-rich plasma) injection to help promote further ligament healing.
He will begin resting the elbow following the procedure, and he is expected to be fully recovered in time for the 2026–27 season.
This has been a brutal year for Morant. Marred by injuries, he was limited to 20 appearances while averaging 19.5 points in 41 percent shooting with 8.1 assists and 3.2 rebounds.
Morant saw himself being subjected to trade speculations all season long, but the Grizzlies eventually didn't move him from the past trade deadline.
Meanwhile, Brandon Clarke will also miss the rest of the season. He continues to make progress in his rehabilitation from a right calf strain, but recent imaging showed that further healing is needed before he can be cleared for high-intensity on-court work. The Canadian big only played two games this year.
Lastly, Zach Edey already underwent procecure to address his left elbow discomfort. Like Morant, he is also set to be fully recovered before the 2026-27 season.
