Project B, a new basketball league that will run next fall, is planning to bring in several NBA and European talents.
Project B, a new global basketball league, is planning to expand its reach and go after NBA players, per Joe Vardon and Mike Vorkunov of The Athletic.
Los Angeles Lakers / Schedule
One of the key board members and adviser of the league has been Maverick Carter, a close friend and longtime business partner of Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James. Miško Ražnatović, who represents Nikola Jokic and several other European players, is also involved.
Project B has already signed several top women's basketball players in the world. As such, co-founder Grady Burnett revealed that they look to “extending the careers of established players” once it launches next fall.
The league intends to bring in players from the NBA and Europe, while also signing young talent from outside the Association for its development program.
Project B managed to sign women's stars by offering high salaries and league equity, and the league is planning to do the same to secure the commitment of top male basketball players.
Considering that it will run from November to April, players have to choose between Project B and the NBA
According to Barnett, his league hasn't had any discussions yet with James about potentially spending the rest of his career in Project B. No players have been signed or contacted yet about potential deals, and further announcements will only be made in the upcoming summer.
