'It's falling off a cliff': Liam Rosenior told he has now lost the Chelsea dressing room

The pressure is mounting on Liam Rosenior as Chelsea go into the international break after four defeats in a row, and Craig Burley thinks he has now lost the dressing room.

Two losses to PSG and an 8-2 battering in the Champions League have coincided with Chelsea losing to both Newcastle and Everton in the Premier League. It has led to suggestions Rosenior could be sacked.

Some reports state that Rosenior’s tenure will be down to Chelsea qualifying for the Champions League while others suggest that Rosenior will be given the same amount of time, as Enzo Maresca was given.

What position would Chelsea be in NOW if Enzo Maresca was still in charge?

Be honest!

Steve Nicol thinks Rosenior is more likely to get the sack than Arne Slot and now, his ESPN punditry partner and former Chelsea player Craig Burley has had his say, making a claim about the dressing room.

Liam Rosenior has lost the Chelsea dressing room

Burley claims he knew from day one that Rosenior would struggle as Chelsea manager. After a promising start, Rosenior is struggling, and it is clear that the former Strasbourg gaffer is now out of his depth.

Speaking on ESPN, Burley thinks Rosenior has already lost the Chelsea dressing room after watching the 3-0 defeat to Everton on Saturday. He also makes the point it is very difficult to win it back when lost.

“He seems to be forcing it. I’ve been in so many dressing rooms with changes of manager, if somebody comes in, not only by actions but by words. 25 people, experienced players, fraud is a strong word.

“But they will smell someone who is not ready, who shouldn’t be there. They will sniff that out in a heartbeat. I just feel, the weekend display backs this up – a lack of work rate, desire – players talk.

“A manager can easily be undermined, particularly in this day and age, players see everything. This is not going to have long legs, it’s actually got worse. It’s falling off a cliff,” Burley continued on Rosenior.

“It’s ludicrous, I don’t know if he’s at this stage but it looks like it, it’s very difficult to get the players back onside. Once the changing room has made it’s mind up, it’s very difficult to drag it back,” he added.

Rosenior has already matched Graham Potter record

After 19 games in charge as Chelsea manager, now-Sweden gaffer Graham Potter had lost seven times. Well, on Saturday, Rosenior matched that record and Todd Boehly sacked Potter just 12 games later.

What percentage would you give Chelsea’s chances of Champions League qualification?

Opta say 10%…

There is sympathy for Rosenior. This isn’t his team; he hasn’t had a moment to breathe with 19 games played in the space of two months. Cole Palmer isn’t fully fit, and three key defenders are now injured.

But Rosenior isn’t helping himself either. His press conferences, the huddle, calling out PGMOL, the inability to keep a clean sheet, and his note-taking against PSG have all gathered criticism from fans.

Whether Rosenior is given the summer remains to be seen, but if Chelsea want Rosenior to succeed, it is the least he deserves. If Chelsea and Boehly have the patience to give him that, it remains unclear.
