Puka Nacua’s attorney downplays biting allegation, denies antisemitic remark

Reports surfaced on Tuesday night that Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua is accused of biting a woman in Los Angeles on New Year’s Eve, after a dinner where he allegedly made an antisemitic remark.

The woman made the allegations while filing a temporary restraining order. The temporary restraining order was denied.

Nacua’s attorney, Levi McCathern, says the allegations are a shakedown attempt with the woman asking for millions.

While he denies the NFL star ever made the alleged antisemitic comment, he did not deny the bite. However, he downplayed the incident and categorized it as “horseplay” that left a “temporary” mark.

“Let’s be clear about what this case is — and what it is not. That matter is not sexual in nature, nor does it involve any allegation of domestic violence,” McCathern said. “If it did, the filings would look very different. They do not. It also doesn’t involve any elements of antisemitism. A complete sober witness has stated unequivocally that Puka never made the comments.”

McCathern went on to categorize the allegations as “blackmail.”

He added, “In the months that followed, our office was contacted with demands for millions of dollars in exchange for not publicizing these allegations. That is not a legitimate legal claim — it is blackmail. Puka denies these allegations in the strongest possible terms. We will be filing a defamation lawsuit and pursuing all available legal remedies in response to these false and damaging statements.”

A hearing is scheduled for April 14.
