Mitchell is dealing with a bruised left eye, which he sustained accidentally during a recent team practice after an inadvertent hit from Evan Mobley.
Despite the injury, which still makes his eye look pretty bad, Mitchell delivered a monster performance against the Magic, finishing with 42 points, 2 rebounds, and 3 assists.
After the game, he said his vision is still slightly blurry, but the injury is improving and looks worse than it actually is.
"I can see now, so finally, it's been a few games. It's good, it's been an interesting few days. Doctors say that I'm fine, but if I close this eye, it's definitely a little blurry. It worked out tonight, so I'm getting better… This looks worse than it is," Mitchell said.
So far this season, Mitchell has appeared in 63 games, averaging 28.3 points, 5.8 assists, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.5 steals, helping the Cavs (45-27) secure the fourth-best record in the Eastern Conference.
