Fresh reports surrounding Tino Livramento have added further intrigue to Arsenal’s summer transfer plans, with claims the Newcastle United full-back would be keen on a move to the Emirates.
According to reports citing information from the Telegraph, Arsenal are seriously considering a summer bid for the England international, with the club targeting reinforcements at right-back.
Further claims suggest Livramento would “jump at the chance” to join Arsenal if a deal materialises, highlighting the growing appeal of Mikel Arteta’s project. The defender has impressed since joining Newcastle United, establishing himself as one of the league’s most dynamic young full-backs.
*ARSENAL*’s interest is understood to be linked to both tactical evolution and squad planning. Reports indicate the Gunners are exploring the market for a more attack-minded right-back, with Livramento’s pace, dribbling ability and versatility making him a standout candidate. He is capable of playing on either flank and has been praised for his ability to carry the ball forward—an attribute highly valued in Arteta’s system.
Newcastle, however, are not expected to let the player leave easily. With a contract running into the latter part of the decade and a reported valuation of around £60 million, any deal would require significant investment. The Magpies are also believed to be keen to retain their key assets, although stalled contract talks could complicate the situation.
What Livramento offers Arsenal – and is he the right fit?
Livramento would bring a different dimension to Arsenal’s defence. His biggest strength is ball progression—he is comfortable driving forward, beating opponents and creating overloads in wide areas. In a system where full-backs are often required to invert or support midfield, his athleticism and technical ability would give Arteta more flexibility.
He would also lower the average age of Arsenal’s defensive unit while adding Premier League-proven quality. Importantly, he fits the club’s recruitment model: young, high-upside players who can develop into elite performers.
However, there are questions. Livramento is still developing defensively, and Arsenal’s system demands positional discipline as much as attacking output. Integrating him into a side already competing for major honours would require patience.
If ARSENAL are planning for the long term and seeking depth with elite potential, Livramento makes sense.
