Report: Chelsea insiders admit they would get rid of Liam Rosenior on one condition

While fan frustration reaches a fever pitch following four straight defeats, club insiders have signaled that Liam Rosenior is effectively unsackable for the foreseeable future.

Liam Rosenior’s honeymoon period at Chelsea has dissolved into an identity crisis, leaving his long-term future under intense scrutiny. Despite a strong start, Rosenior’s tenure recently hit a low with four consecutive defeats, the club’s worst run since 2023.

The Blues have gone over 300 minutes without a goal and 15 matches without a clean sheet, a defensive frailty exposed further by Robert Sanchez’s recent errors.

And the visible frustration of stars like Estevao Willian suggests a dressing room struggling to translate his intricate Strasbourg-inspired methods into results.

However, it looks as if Rosenior’s future is safe, barring a disaster.

Liam Rosenior would be sacked if a disaster occurred

According to the Daily Mail, Liam Rosenior’s position is currently considered safe, even if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.

Club insiders say only an almighty collapse would force them to reconsider that stance this summer, but there is confidence that will not happen.

It’s a brave move from Chelsea to allow Rosenior to stay on even if Champions League football isn’t secured, but it is only fair to give him a summer to bring in his own players.

However, the Blues can’t really afford not to finish inside the top five, so the owners may be forced into a decision if things don’t improve quickly.

What percentage would you give Chelsea’s chances of Champions League qualification?

Opta say 10%…

Liam Rosenior faces a difficult month

The upcoming weeks represent a brutal final exam for Liam Rosenior. If he fails to beat Port Vale in the FA Cup quarter-final on April 4th, the process is effectively dead; being knocked out by League One opposition at Stamford Bridge would turn a fan base that is already teetering on the edge.

Even if he survives the cup tie, the April Premier League schedule is a difficult one. Hosting Manchester City on the 12th and Manchester United on the 18th, a United side currently sitting third under Michael Carrick, feels like a recipe for a historic five or six-game losing streak.

Currently trailing 5th-placed Liverpool, Chelsea simply cannot afford a learning curve. Instead, they need to be banking on immediate results to save their season.
