The New Orleans Saints have signed a fascinating quarterback to their roster to join Tyler Shough.
The QB depth chart now also includes Zach Wilson.
The signing was reported Tuesday night by Saints beat writer Nick Underhill.
Wilson "adds a veteran presence and some competition to the QB room behind Tyler Shough," writes Underhill, adding, "He gives New Orleans a third quarterback with starting experience."

The Saints also still have Spencer Rattler under contract. A move like the Wilson signing will at least slightly raise speculation about a potential Rattler trade, although nothing like that has really risen to the surface at this point.
Wilson isn't even a guaranteed QB2 at this point despite his not all that long ago draft pedigree.
He was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft by the New York Jets out of BYU.
Wilson was regarded as having immense arm talent, and his apparent ability to make off-platform throws and create wild plays by moving all over the place had people squinting and wondering if he could be Patrick Mahomes.
In case you didn't realize, he did not become Mahomes.
Instead, Wilson went 12-21 as a starting QB for the Jets before they moved on from him.
He was a backup with the Denver Broncos in 2024 and didn't play a snap. Then he got into four games with the Miami Dolphins in 2025 and completed 6-of-11 passes.
In his career, he has a 57% completion rate and has thrown 23 touchdowns compared to 25 interceptions.
Wilson is now 26 years old, and he'll try to prove with the Saints that he at least still belongs in the QB room, even if he's no longer going to be a starter in the NFL.
