The Notre Dame Fighting Irish barely missed out on the College Football Playoff in 2025. A year after playing for a national title, they were shut out of the Playoff. Jeremiyah Love did his best to carry the team to the CFP, but the two losses they suffered were too much to overcome.

Love was one of the best players in all of college football this past season. He finished the season with 1,372 yards and 18 rushing touchdowns. In 2024, he also rushed for over 1,100 yards and 17 touchdowns. He is projected to be one of the top picks in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Right now, Love is listed as the best overall player available by ESPN. Recently, Love gave his pitch for NFL teams looking to add him to their roster.

Notre Dame RB Jeremiyah Love Tells NFL Teams why They Should Draft Him

While working out at Notre Dame’s Pro Day, Love gave his pitch to NFL teams as to why they should use their first-round draft pick on him.

“You draft me, I’m not doing too much of nothing outside of football. Outside of football, I’ll go out here and there. But I’m the type of guy, the perfect day after a game, go home, play video games, talk to whoever I want to talk to, and watch anime. So I’m a simple guy. You’re going to get strictly a football player in me, which is what you want. It’s going to be my job. I’m going to take it very seriously, and I’m going to give it my all, and I’m not going to cause you no type of trouble.”

Love has the stats and the tape to be considered one of the top prospects in this year’s draft. What he needs is to show people why they should take a running back so highly in a world where the running back position has been devalued. That will be his challenge.

Jeremiyah Love Will be a Top-10 NFL Draft Pick

Despite the fact that he is a running back, Love will almost certainly be a top-10 pick next month. His ability to not just run the ball in between the tackles is great, but he can run outside, too. His receiving skills were underutilized at Notre Dame, but he still has them.

He is tough, as he doesn’t miss games. At the running back position, staying durable is a massive thing for NFL teams. That’s especially true if a team takes a back with a top-10 pick. Love has all of the tools to be a very good running back in the league for a while.

Of the teams at the top of the draft, the Cardinals at three and the Titans at four are two candidates to draft Love. Tennessee is the best fit, as they already drafted their quarterback of the future last season when they took Cam Ward with the top overall pick.

Love performed well at his Pro Day, so teams got to see firsthand just how explosive he is with the ball in his hand.
