The 2026 NFL Draft is less than a month away, and the New England Patriots are ramping up their work in preparation for one of the most important events of the offseason. Even after an active stretch during free agency, the Pats still have areas of their roster to fill, with one of them being the offensive line.
While New England has its preferred starting offensive line in place, its depth at this spot is lacking. As a result, the team will likely select a couple of players as developmental prospects for the 2026 campaign. One player on the team's radar appears to be Auburn Tigers interior offensive lineman Jeremiah Wright, as he recently met with Eliot Wolf and several other members of the team's front office.
"A standout of Senior Bowl week, Auburn iOL Jeremiah Wright has been a talking point for teams," NFL analyst Ryan Fowler reported in a post on X. "Late Day 2 grades scattered across the league ... Met with Patriots brass, including EVP of Player Personnel Eliot Wolf."
Wright is a bit of a unique prospect, as he initially started as a defensive tackle for Auburn before converting to an offensive lineman. Eventually, he found a home at right guard, as he started all 12 games he played in at that spot last year. However, he has the versatility to fill in at several other spots on the line.
Many evaluators believe that Wright is likely to come off the board in the third round, so depending on how the board shakes out, he could be a perfect target for the team. There's no doubt that the offensive line will be a priority in the draft, which makes Wright a guy worth keeping tabs on, especially since he's already met with Wolf.
