While initial fears suggested Trevoh Chalobah’s season might be over following his stretcher exit against PSG, the Chelsea defender is now aiming for an ambitious comeback.
Trevoh Chalobah has been the unsung anchor of Chelsea’s defense throughout the 2025/26 campaign, providing much-needed stability amidst a rotating cast of center-back partners.
Before Chalobah’s recent ankle injury against PSG, the academy graduate had clocked the most minutes of any Chelsea outfielder, making 46 appearances across all competitions.
While the team has struggled for clean sheets, his individual stats remain elite, boasting a 93% pass completion rate and over 180 clearances. His leadership was particularly vital during a congested winter period, where he captained the side in Reece James’ absence.
And there may just be some good news for Chelsea fans.

Trevoh Chalobah’s expected return date
Matt Law has provided a positive injury update on Trevoh Chalobah whilst speaking on the London is Blue podcast.
He believes that Chalobah could even return in less than a month.
“I think Trevoh is actually hoping to be back after the Manchester games if everything goes to plan, which would be insane, but that would be a huge boost.”
It’s quite a surprise to hear he could be back so soon after first fearing that he could have broken his ankle due to the severity of the challenge.
However, he will miss crucial games against Manchester City and Manchester United.

Trevoh Chalobah’s record with Chelsea this season
The drop-off when Trevoh Chalobah is absent from the Chelsea lineup has become a glaring indictment of the squad’s defensive depth this season.
During his three-game domestic suspension in October and his most recent absence against Everton, Chelsea’s win rate plummeted while their defensive metrics soured.
Notably, before the September international break, Chelsea conceded just 0.33 goals per game with Chalobah anchoring the defense. In games where he has been missing or prematurely removed, such as the collapse against Brighton following his red card, the goals-conceded average spiked to a staggering 2.2 per match.
