Former Chelsea Star Could Replace Liam Rosenior In The Summer As Man City Keep Close Eye

Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior finds himself under considerable pressure amid his job as the boss.

The Blues went into the international break off the back of four winless matches in a row. They were knocked out of the Champions League by PSG, and then also suffered a defeat to Newcastle and a defeat to Everton.

Rosenior is one of the favourites to get sacked next in the Premier League, despite the fact that he joined Chelsea in January. Most reports have said that the Blues don’t plan to decide on the manager’s future before the end of the season, though.

With Chelsea currently in sixth place, Rosenior will be desperate to climb back into the Champions League places. If he does qualify for the Champions League, the Chelsea boss will more than likely keep his job at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea consider Fabregas as Rosenior’s replacement

Should Chelsea decide to sack Rosenior in the summer, they will have to begin thinking of a list of potential replacements for the former Brighton defender.

One name who was linked when they first appointed Rosenior was former Chelsea and Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas. The Spaniard is currently in charge at Serie A side Como.

Fabgregas is doing a fantastic job, with Como currently in fourth in the Serie A table, an impressive position considering they first came up from Serie B in the 2023/24 season.

According to TeamTalk, Chelsea are considering Fabregas as a potential replacement for Rosenior should they look to change in manager during the summer transfer window. The report also includes details of Manchester City, as Pep Guardiola’s future is very much in doubt.

If Guardiola leaves, Man City would reportedly consider Fabregas to replace him, alongside former City defender Vincent Kompany, and former Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca. Chelsea would have to act quickly to land Fabregas if they want him, meaning they’ll need to decide what to do with Rosenior in the near future.
