Elijah Moore Lands With His Fourth NFL Team After Signing With the Eagles

WR Elijah Moore, the former second-round pick who put together back-to-back 100-target seasons with the Cleveland Browns, is headed to Philadelphia on a one-year deal.

The Eagles agreed to terms with him on Tuesday, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Moore turns 26 this week, marking this as his fourth NFL stop across five professional seasons.

His 2025 campaign in Buffalo ended after nine games and nine catches. The Bills released him in late November when they brought in wide receiver Brandin Cooks.

Denver added Moore to the practice squad, and his only appearance with the Broncos was a four-yard reception in the AFC Championship Game. He entered this offseason a free agent.

Rapoport noted that Moore is just one season removed from over 100 targets with the Browns, which puts the Buffalo stretch into useful perspective.

Moore’s Stops Before Philadelphia: From the Jets to the Browns and Beyond

The New York Jets drafted Moore 34th overall in the 2021 NFL Draft out of Ole Miss. His rookie year offered real proof of ability: 43 receptions, 538 yards, and five touchdowns in 11 games.

Two seasons in New York never built on that start. The Browns acquired him before the 2023 campaign, and that turned out to be the most consistent period of Moore’s career.

Over two Cleveland seasons, Moore caught 120 passes for 1,178 yards and three touchdowns across all 34 possible games, drawing over 100 targets in each year. He was one of the more reliable slot options in the league during that stretch.

His career numbers through 70 games stand at 209 receptions, 2,274 yards, and nine touchdowns, a steady line that never quite produced the breakout his early tape suggested was possible.

Buffalo signed Moore last offseason on a deal worth up to $5 million, but the fit never developed. New Orleans now becomes his fourth signed destination.

The A.J. Brown Connection and What This Signing Means for Philadelphia’s Depth Chart

The Eagles lost Jahan Dotson to the Atlanta Falcons in free agency and have been adding receivers since. Marquise “Hollywood” Brown joined on a one-year deal last week. Moore is next.

Current depth at receiver in Philadelphia has A.J. Brown at the top, followed by DeVonta Smith, Hollywood Brown, and then Moore. A.J. Brown’s future with the team, though, remains unresolved heading into the offseason.

There is a real personal connection here. Moore and A.J. Brown were college teammates and roommates at Ole Miss during 2018. Brown has publicly credited Moore as someone who was present for him during some of his more difficult personal moments.

The friendship reportedly remained genuine. The two players’ roster situations are independent of each other, but the dynamic adds something to Moore’s circumstances in Philadelphia.

The front-office angle matters as well. Joe Douglas, who selected Moore during his tenure as general manager of the New York Jets, is now a senior personnel advisor with the Eagles.

The Eagles are also reportedly targeting wide receivers in the early rounds of the upcoming draft, regardless of how the A.J. Brown situation resolves. Moore will face real competition through training camp.

With his best production still in recent memory, Philadelphia gives him one of the better opportunities he has had in years.
