“Their Most Valuable Trade Asset”: PFF Thinks That the Tennessee Titans Could Maybe Trade…

The Chicago Bears were interested in trading for Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons at the NFL trade deadline last season, but Tennessee was not trading him. Simmons has been with the Titans since the 2019 NFL season. He is 28 years old and has been the best defensive player on this team for the last several seasons.

Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons (98) tackles Kansas City Chiefs running back Kareem Hunt (29) for a safety during the second quarter at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tenn., Sunday, Dec. 21, 2025.

During the 2025 NFL season, Simmons recorded 67 tackles, 11 sacks, three forced fumbles, and three pass deflections. Had he been traded to Chicago last year, he would have been a huge addition for that defense. Even with a new head coach in Robert Saleh at the helm for the Titans, is there a chance that they could potentially trade him anyways this offseason anyways?

PFF Thinks That the Tennessee Titans Could Trade Jeffrey Simmons This Offseason Anyways

Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons (98) tosses his glove to fans after the New Orleans Saints won 34-26 at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tenn., Sunday, Dec. 28, 2025.

John Kosko of profootballfocus.com listed one potential trade candidate for each NFL team as the offseason continues to march on. He thinks that the one trade chip for the Titans could potentially be their star defensive tackle Simmons. Kosko said,

“The Titans are fully committed to a rebuild, making Simmons their most valuable trade asset. He earned an 89.6 PFF overall grade in 2025 and ranked among interior defenders in PFF pass-rush grade (91.4), highlighting his impact as both a disruptor and run defender.

His consistent production and positional value would command a massive return. Trading Simmons could provideTennesseewith the draft capital needed to rebuild both lines and better support quarterback Cam Ward.”

They are probably not going to trade Simmons now. Last year would have been the time to do it but having Saleh in the building changes things for the Titans. He wants his star defensive lineman to get after the quarterback. It would be a mistake for Tennessee to trade him anyways. It would be the worst trade they could make since they traded away wide receiver A.J. Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles a few years ago.
