Another NBA legend says Luka Doncic isn't First Team All-NBA this season

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder when it comes to Luka Doncic.

On one hand, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar is the NBA's leading scorer at 33.4 points per game. The Lakers saw a nine-game winning streak ended on Monday night against the Detroit Pistons, but Los Angeles has a solid grip on the No.3 seed in the Western Conference despite a lackluster defense.

On the other hand, Doncic's inconsistency on that end can be labeled a contributing factor as to why the Lakers aren't so great defensively. And one NBA legend believes that should -- or will -- be the differentiating factor when it comes time to name All-NBA teams.

Legendary power forward Kevin Garnett "loves" Doncic, but he thinks Pistons guard Cade Cunningham and the Boston Celtics' Jaylen Brown are first-team All-NBA selections ahead of Doncic.

Garnett said that while Doncic is "killing it" in his first full season with the Lakers, Brown has been almost singlehandedly carrying the Celtics in the East, while Cunningham's all-around game is a major reason why the Pistons are likely to be the top seed in the other conference.

“Jaylen Brown and Cade Cunningham are having better years all around basketball than bro," Garnett said on his "KG Certified" podcast. "I love Luka, bro. But yeah, I look at the game from the whole 360.”

Though Cunningham may miss out on All-NBA eligibility as he continues to recover from a collapsed left lung, it's clear that he has the kind of blessing that Doncic will need to keep working to receive from a certain generation of NBA stars.
