New Orleans Saints quarterback Tyler Shough completed his rookie season in 2025 and was a second-round selection in the 2025 NFL Draft from the Louisville Cardinals. Many people at the time couldn’t understand what the Saints were doing when drafting him, but he proved to be good during his rookie season and probably will be the starter in 2026.

At 26 years old, it remains to be seen how long he will be the starting quarterback for. Shough last season completed 67.6% of his passes for 2,384 yards, 10 touchdowns, and six interceptions. He also rushed for 186 yards on 45 carries and three touchdowns, along with averaging 4.1 yards per carry. With him playing his college football in the state of Kentucky, Shough has a very good relationship with Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear.

One of the biggest topics in the U.S.A. is who could potentially be the President of the United States of America in the 2028 election. One name on the democratic side that could potentially run is Beshear of Kentucky. Several months back, Shough was on the Andy Beshear Podcast. The Saints quarterback said, “Mr Beshear, I hope you become president one day, man. We will be voting for you. I appreciate the opportunity and maybe atthat point I’ll be in your cabinet for sports advisor or something.”
It will be interesting to see how this is going to play out in two years from now. Beshear may decide not to run and Shough may wind up voting for someone else for President anyways. This is interesting that the former Louisville quarterback was on a Governor’s podcast to talk about the future of America.
