The Los Angeles Lakers are set to play the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday, March 25.

The game comes after the Lakers’ nine-game winning streak was snapped against the Detroit Pistons, a contest in which Los Angeles was without a few of it’s key players.

Now, in the lead-up to their game against the Pacers, the Lakers have announced an updated injury report, one that also features some of their main contributors listed as out of the matchup.

INGLEWOOD, CALIFORNIA – DECEMBER 20: Marcus Smart #36 of the Los Angeles Lakers during play against the Los Angeles Clippers in the second half at Intuit Dome on December 20, 2025 in Inglewood, California.

According to the latest Lakers injury report, both Marcus Smart and Rui Hachimura have been ruled out.

The two each missed the loss to the Pistons, dealing with ankle and calf injuries, respectively, and each will now miss their second game in a row. Smart was originally doubtful for the contest, while Hachimura was questionable, but in the time since, they’ve been ruled out.

Previously, Lakers head coach JJ Redick had given an update on the two key players, saying they were both considered day-to-day.

“JJ Redick says Rui Hachimura was hit in his right calf in the Miami game and it tightened up on him in the Orlando game. He had a MRI that came back clean. He is day to day, per Redick,” team insider Dave McMemanin wrote in a post on X.

“Redick added that Marcus Smart is dealing with a right hip issue from the Orlando game as well as the right ankle from the collision with Goga Bitadze. Redick said Smart is also day to day,” he followed up with in a second post.

Adou Thiero was also ruled out for the upcoming game against Indiana, as the rookie has struggled with injuries all year, currently dealing with a knee issue.

Deandre Ayton was also downgraded to questionable for the contest.

As mentioned, the Lakers had previously won nine in a row, and 12 of 13 before losing to Detroit on Monday night.

They climbed up multiple spots in the Western Conference standings, thanks to both Luka Doncic‘s MVP-level play, as well as LeBron James taking his new role as the team’s third option on offense in stride.

In that span, and Los Angeles’ overall strong run in the month of March, they got wins over the New York Knicks, Minnesota Timberwolves, Houston Rockets (twice), Denver Nuggets, and other playoff hopeful teams.

With just ten games to go in the Lakers’ regular season, they hold a 46-26 record, currently third in the West.

While there were questions about the fit between Doncic, James, and Austin Reaves all on the court together, Los Angeles has responded well, as the team is in their best form of the year in a crucial point of the season.

Still, they’ll be without at least both Smart and Hachimura for their next contest, which could be a trap game against Indiana, despite their standing as having the worst record in the NBA.
