Maxx Crosby Trade to Cowboys Possibility Explored by Ex-NFL GM As Jerry Jones’ Earlier Offer to …

Maxx Crosby was moments away from being a Raven and playing alongside Lamar Jackson in the 2026 NFL season. However, the Baltimore Ravens front office nixed that reportedly because the Raiders star failed a physical exam.

Apart from the Ravens, several teams wanted to acquire the services of Crosby, but the strongest contender that challenged Ravens’ bid was Jerry Jones-led Dallas Cowboys.

Jones promised an aggressive offseason before free agency and nearly delivered a blockbuster, but the Ravens beat him out, then backed out, and Maxx Crosby remains with the Las Vegas Raiders for now.

Still, the trade chatter refuses to die, and former NFL GM Mike Tannenbaum believes Jerry Jones could revisit the deal.

Now, Mike Tannenbaum has reignited the Maxx Crosby trade to the Cowboys possibility. Speaking on ESPN’s ‘Get Up,’ this morning, the ex-Jets GM said,

“It was a two this year and a two next year, and the two could become a one. So it’s in the ballpark. Look, Dallas is probably saying, ‘I don’t want to give up the 12th pick in the Draft if I worry about where he’s [Crosby] going to be in three years.’ My pushback to that is there is no certainty that your first-round pick is going to be on your team in three years. If I’m Dallas, because I was so bad, this is an opportunity that they need to take advantage of.”

Dallas pushed hard for the five-time Pro Bowler after moving on from Micah Parsons, trying to rebuild a shaky defense that hurt them in the 2025 NFL season.

Jerry Jones’ Cowboys tried till very last to snag Maxx Crosby from Ravens

Jerry Jones pushed hard to land Maxx Crosby but came up short in a high-stakes trade battle with the Ravens. The pursuit revealed just how aggressive Dallas was in trying to fix its pass rush.According to ESPN’s Ryan McFadden, the Cowboys were the only other team seriously involved in negotiations with the Raiders.

“Baltimore beat out the Cowboys, who were also seeking an elite pass rusher. Initial offers centered on Dallas’ second first-round pick at No. 20, and defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa. The Cowboys then offered their top first-rounder at No. 12 and a third-round pick. Ultimately, the Cowboys moved to No. 12 and their second-round pick, but the last two offers, sources said, did not include Odighizuwa, who was traded to the San Francisco 49ers for a third-round selection,” McFadden wrote.

Baltimore’s blockbuster offer of two first-round picks proved untouchable. Dallas stopped short of matching that price, especially with concerns surrounding Crosby’s durability and age nearing 30.However, Jones hasn’t shut the door on future talks.

“We’re pretty far down the road relativ to what our plans are,” he said. “So while I don’t anticipate it, I don’t want to rule anything out.”

For now, Crosby stays put, and Dallas walks away from a near-miss that could have defined its defense heading into the 2026 NFL season.
