Luke Fickell, Wisconsin announce hire of former Badger Bradie Ewing to staff

MADISON, Wis.-- Wisconsin football had been working to hire a Director of Alumni Football Relations for a little while this offseason. And on Wednesday, Luke Fickell and the Badgers made their hire official with an announcement: former fullback, and Wisconsin native, Bradie Ewing.

Below includes some details and quotes from the official press release from UW Athletics and Wisconsin Football:

"Bradie is a perfect fit for our alumni relations role," said head coach Luke Fickell. "He understands what makes the University of Wisconsin and Badger football special. He will do an excellent job fostering relationships with our alumni and maintaining the traditions and values that define our program."

Ewing, a former Badger walk-on who was eventually named a team captain as a senior in 2011, returns to the Badger program after spending time on staff as an assistant strength coach in 2015.

"I'm honored to return to Wisconsin," said Ewing. "I'm thankful for the opportunity to connect with former players and alumni that helped lay the foundation of Badger football. The culture here is rooted in the pride of being a Badger, and I'm excited to strengthen those ties and keep our alumni connected to the program moving forward."

Following his time in Madison, Ewing spent a few years in the NFL as well, between the Falcons and Jacksonville Jaguars. Ewing is a native of Richland Center, Wisconsin.
