He has now decided to play in the NFL, and has been to the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. He has given an interview that has earned him much negative attention from fans.

Running back Love has emerged as the clear No. 1 running back prospect in the 2026 NFL Draft. Being 6-foot and 212 pounds, he delivered a dominant 2025 season for Notre Dame, rushing for 1,372 yards on 199 carries with 18 touchdowns, while adding 27 receptions for 280 yards and three touchdowns. This earned him the 2025 Doak Walker Award as the nation’s top running back, and came third in the Heisman Trophy voting. He has been impressive throughout his college career, and is one of the best prospects this year.

Love has also impressed at the NFL Combine, where he has shown his explosive acceleration and skillful moves. He clocked the 40-yard dash in 4.36-seconds. It is expected that he will be a top-10 overall pick, and potentially even as a top-5 pick. Many teams will be looking to get him in the upcoming NFL Draft.
Recently, he gave an interview where he was asked by Notre Dame sports reporter Talia Baia what NFL teams can expect from him off the field. He said, “My perfect day after a game is going home, playing video games…and watch anime. I’m a simple guy… I’m not going to cause you no type of trouble.”
While it was a lighthearted comment and proved he will be disciplined for any franchise, many fans felt he did not have what it takes to be in the NFL.
