Report: Everton stance on signing Chelsea loanee Tyrique George permanently this summer

Tyrique George appears set for a summer return to Chelsea, with Everton reportedly leaning against triggering the permanent purchase option in his loan deal.

Tyrique George’s loan move to Everton has struggled to catch fire. Since arriving at Goodison Park on deadline day, George has served primarily as a peripheral figure in David Moyes’ squad.

Tasked with filling the void left by the injured Jack Grealish, he has managed just five Premier League appearances, only one of which was a start, and has yet to register a goal or an assist for the Toffees.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall gave George his backing towards the start of his time at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, but he’s obviously not cutting it behind the scenes.

A move back to Chelsea now looks likely, with a permanent exit likely to follow in the summer.

Everton do not want to sign Tyrique George permanently

According to the Daily Mail, George is ‘likely’ to return to Chelsea at the end of his Everton loan.

Is it expected that the Toffees will decide against making his loan deal permanent.

Interestingly, it has been claimed that Everton’s buy option for George is ‘significant’, even more than the fee Fulham were set to pay for the attacker, so it comes as no surprise that they won’t trigger it.

George has suggested he felt underappreciated at Chelsea, which won’t help his cause when he returns.

Who would you like to see replace Liam Rosenior if he gets sacked?

What the future holds of Tyrique George at Chelsea

The future for Tyrique George appears to be a crossroads between reintegration at Stamford Bridge and a permanent, pure-profit departure. With his Everton loan unlikely to be made permanent due to a lack of minutes, George is set to return to a Chelsea squad already bloated with high-profile wingers.

Given he has just 15 months remaining on his contract, Chelsea may view this summer as the final opportunity to command a significant fee, potentially reviving the £22 million interest from Fulham.

If Liam Rosenior cannot guarantee him a pathway, George’s Cobham journey will likely end in a strategic sale to balance the club’s delicate PSR accounts.
