Arsenal eye ambitious move for PSG star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia

Arsenal are weighing up a potential summer move for Paris Saint-Germain forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, The Sporting News understands.

The Gunners are exploring options to strengthen their frontline ahead of next season, with the Georgia international viewed as a player capable of bringing more individual creativity and elevating the overall quality of the squad.

It is understood that Kvaratskhelia's representatives would be open to discussing a switch to north London.

However, PSG are said to regard the 25-year-old as a central figure in their long-term plans with any negotiations are therefore expected to be extremely difficult.

Sources within PSG consider Kvaratskhelia close to untouchable, underlining the scale of the challenge facing Arsenal if they decide to formalise their interest.

He has flourished since arriving in Paris from Napoli in a deal worth around £59.5 million (€70m), recently scoring three goals during PS'’s commanding Champions League last-16 victory over Chelsea.

Speaking to Le Parisien about his move to the French capital, Kvaratskhelia explained the decisive role PSG's hierarchy played in convincing him.

"I had other options, other offers from other clubs, but the way Luis Enrique and Luís Campos presented the project to me impressed me," he said.

"I didn't hesitate about it, I simply told my agent I want to go to PSG. It was a dream to have joined this club, when PSG contacted me I truly understood that I had become a world-class player."

"When PSG contacted me, I think my wife was the happiest person in the world. Before PSG contacted me, she always used to say to me: 'Imagine if we played for PSG one day, it would be incredible to live there.'

"But in my head, I thought at that time it was very difficult to join PSG since there were crazy good players like Messi, Neymar and Mbappw. I love Paris, I love everything about Paris."

Arsenal are set to prioritise attacking reinforcements in the upcoming transfer window, and while Kvaratskhelia remains a highly ambitious target, the club's recruitment team are continuing to assess a range of profiles capable of adding unpredictability and decisive moments in the final third.
