The New York Jets will have the second and 16th overall selections in the 2026 NFL Draft. A lot of people are not expecting the Jets to draft a quarterback in the first-round of the 2026 NFL Draft. However, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported, “Alabama QB Ty Simpson is scheduled to hold a private workout this Friday with the Jets, per@FieldYates. The Jets own picks No. 2 and No. 16 in this year’s first round.”

This is very interesting because the Las Vegas Raiders are projected to draft Indiana Hoosiers quarterback Fernando Mendoza first overall in the 2026 NFL Draft. However, would the Jets draft Simpson second overall? Very unlikely, but maybe 16th overall. Ty Simpson last season with the Alabama Crimson Tide completed 64.5% of his passes for 3,567 yards, 28 touchdowns, and five interceptions.

It will be interesting to see how Simpson will look on Friday. If he impresses the Jets, then interesting NFL Draft rumors will potentially start to surface. Simpson is 6’2″ and weighs 208 lbs also.
