Adam Silver emphasized that NBA Europe should move forward in collaboration with the EuroLeague, national leagues, and FIBA, highlighting a shared approach to growing basketball across the continent.
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver addressed the ongoing discussions around NBA Europe and the future of basketball development on the continent, stressing the importance of cooperation with existing structures.
Speaking at the NBA Board of Governors press conference, Silver highlighted that a unified approach could benefit the sport long term, pointing to the need to work alongside the EuroLeague and other governing bodies rather than operate separately.
"Chus [Bueno] used to be a colleague of mine at the NBA for many years. I think for the better of European basketball, the best outcome would be if we come together with the EuroLeague," he said, per Iacopo De Santis of Pianeta Basket.
"And we came up with a systematic approach to growing the game throughout Europe. And that means complementing the country leagues, working together with the EuroLeague, and with the FIBA".
