Arsenal are exploring the possibility of a summer transfer for Paris Saint-Germain star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
According to The Independent, the Gunners are expected to undergo a significant squad overhaul this season, with Kvaratskhelia emerging as a key target.
The 25-year-old only moved to PSG in January 2024 for £59million, but it's now reported that his camp would actually be open to a move.
His current club, however, is unlikely to share this view, given his crucial role and the fact that the winger is seen as the gem of their ongoing project.
Meanwhile, in north London, the sale of a senior player is being seriously considered, with Arsenal aiming to sanction sales this summer. This would provide the club with more flexibility in light of the Premier League's change in financial regulations to Squad Cost Ratio.
Despite this, Arsenal seem set to splash out this summer, with Kvaratskhelia an offensive addition that would instantly elevate Mikel Arteta's squad.
However, a deal seems highly complicated with the Georgian still having three years left on his contract. Although his representatives haven't ruled out a transfer, PSG are unlikely to consider a departure unless substantial funds are offered.
Luis Enrique's team knocked out Arsenal on their journey to clinching the Champions League last season, with both clubs in the quarter-finals this time around, and the two sides could potentially face off in the final.
The reigning champions thrashed Chelsea 8-2 on aggregate earlier this month, with Kvaratskhelia finding the back of the net three times. That accounts for a quarter of his goals this season, with the versatile forward also providing seven assists from a total of 37 appearances.
However, it might require some significant persuasion to convince Kvaratskhelia to make the switch to the Premier League, given his recent remarks about PSG.
He told Le Parisien: "Paris, for me, is truly incredible. You have everything here, and on top of that, it's the city of love. When PSG called me, I think my wife was the happiest person in the world.
"Before PSG contacted me, she always said, 'Imagine if we played for PSG one day, it would be incredible to live there.' I would reply, 'Yes, of course.'

"But in my mind, I thought it was very difficult to go there when there were such amazing players like [Lionel] Messi, Neymar and [Kylian] Mbappe.
"I love Paris, I love everything about Paris. The more I think about it, the more I appreciate how respectful people are. When you go out, they don't bother you much. At a restaurant, for example, they ask before taking a photo. I really like that. It's the best city to stroll around in with your wife."
Atletico Madrid's Julian Alvarez has also been suggested as a genuine target for the Gunners, with the former Manchester City forward flourishing in Spain.
