Frank Leboeuf suggests'unstoppable'Chelsea target is actually better than Jude Bellingham

England are busy preparing for their pre-World Cup fixtures against Uruguay and Japan, and one of the biggest debates is whether Chelsea target Morgan Rogers will start over Jude Bellingham.

Bellingham, of course, is one of England’s best players but the Real Madrid star has endured a tricky season with the Spanish giants. He’s played less than 2000 minutes, having a hand in just 10 goals.

Meanwhile, Rogers is thriving. While his form might have dipped in the last couple of weeks, has had a hand in 17 goals this season, clocking up more than 3500 minutes. Little surprise, Chelsea are interested.

If you could pick Chelsea’s next no.10, would you have Bellingham or Rogers?

Leboeuf knows…

Rogers has been one of the Premier League’s best attacking players for a while now, and reports claim Chelsea are keen on doing a £100m deal for the Aston Villa ace. Frank Leboeuf is a very big fan.

Rogers or Bellingham? Leboeuf says who he would pick

Oh, to be Thomas Tuchel. It is not as if the list of no. 10s stops at Rogers and Bellingham. The Three Lions have Phil Foden and Cole Palmer to choose from too, though they are more likely to play out wide.

Asked who he would pick if he was England manager, former Chelsea defender Leboeuf says he is a big fan of Chelsea’s long-standing transfer target and told ESPN he would prefer Rogers over Bellingham.

“I love Morgan Rogers. I think he will be very good at the World Cup because he has something special. When he is at his best, he’s unstoppable. So yes, he has to [start for England over Jude Bellingham].”

The state of play regarding Morgan Rogers’ Aston Villa future

The former Man City and Middlesbrough star is on fire, and Villa now look good to qualify for the Champions League after beating West Ham on the weekend. But where does Rodgers stand?

Reports say that despite all of the interest in Rogers, not just from Stamford Bridge but from Liverpool too, no team has made contact with the player’s representatives. But his future will be up for debate.

If clubs do propose a £100m deal, it will surely be hard for Villa to ignore. Especially, as Villa have been near breaking Financial Fairplay rules in the past. Whether Chelsea can do a deal, remains unclear.
