Refusing to get caught up in the retirement rumors swirling around Lionel Messi, Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez has insisted the Argentina squad is focused solely on enjoying him to the fullest.
The partnership between Lionel Messi and Enzo Fernandez has been the heartbeat of Argentina’s golden era. Since his debut in late 2022, the pair has shared the pitch in approximately 30 matches, maintaining a remarkable win percentage and a points-per-game average of 2.55.
Their bond was famously forged during the 2022 World Cup, where Messi assisted Fernandez’s stunning goal against Mexico, making Enzo the youngest Argentine to score in the tournament since Messi himself.

Argentina are set to face Mauritania after the cancellation of the friendly with Spain.
Speaking to OLE, Enzo Fernandez has claimed that he doesn’t know when Lionel Messi will be retiring, but he’s enjoying every moment of playing with him.
“I have no idea if it is the last time or not and we always try to enjoy with Leo to the fullest every moment we have in the National Team and we always take it responsibly”.
And speaking of futures, Enzo Fernandez’s is currently up in the air ahead of the summer transfer window, despite claims he’s committed to Chelsea.
