Najee Harris‘ tenure with the Los Angeles Chargers was short.
The running back signed a one-year deal with the team and was set to split the bulk of the carries with first-round draft pick Omarion Hampton, but suffered a torn Achilles tendon in the third game of the season, which forced the player out for the rest of the season.
Harris posted a video on social media showing the player running on a treadmill going 15 miles per hour. With the time to heal, the running back appears poised to return for the 2026 season.
The latest news reveals that Najee Harris has met with a team and will have another visit soon.

The Seattle Seahawks are still riding on the high of winning Super Bowl LX against the New England Patriots, and are still looking to improve the Lombardi trophy-winning roster.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Najee Harris reportedly met with the Seahawks but left without a deal.

Super Bowl LX MVP Kenneth Walker won’t be returning to the team after signing a three-year deal with the Kansas City Chiefs.
The clear-cut starter for the 2026 season will be Zach Charbonnet, but he is returning from a torn ACL he suffered in the NFC Divisional round against the San Francisco 49ers.
Harris, as mentioned, is still recovering from a torn Achilles tendon, but has had more time to heal and will be 100% when the next season starts, compared to Charbonnet.
When former Alabama Crimson Tide running back is healthy and the lead back, he can put up over 1,000 rushing yards and a minimum of 6 rushing touchdowns in a season. Harris is also a threat in the pass game, having logged 1,174 receiving yards and 6 touchdown receptions throughout his career.
Najee Harris can become the lead back or, what was originally intended with the Los Angeles Chargers, split the bulk of carries with Charbonnet.

If Najee Harris does not come to terms to sign with the Seattle Seahawks, then he can join the roster of the team’s former offensive coordinator.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Harris has a meeting lined up with the Las Vegas Raiders. The head coach of the Raiders, Klint Kubiak, was calling the plays on the Seahawks Super Bowl journey.
If Harris were to join Vegas, he would be in rotation with Ashton Jeanty, who had an impressive rookie season, rushing for 975 rushing yards and 5 touchdowns, while being a threat in the pass game, logging 346 receiving yards and 5 touchdown receptions.
The Chargers currently have a promising running back duo of Omarion Hampton and Kimani Vidal. But if the Bolts coaching staff believes they need more depth at the position, Najee Harris is still available and can be brought back on a team-friendly deal.
