While doing warmups ahead of the home game, the big man sustained a right ankle sprain. He was subsequently ruled out against the Heat.

According to Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com, Wade hurt and tweaked his ankle during the warmup process. He was initially marked as questionable until the Cavs made him unavailable out of precaution.

With Wade unexpectedly out, the Cavaliers will even more shorthanded in their frontcourt. Thomas Bryant and Nae'Qwan Tomlin are set to step up and help star big man Evan Mobley.

Appearing in 57 games so far, Wade is averaging 5.8 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.5 assists this 2025-26 season for Cleveland.
