76ers Announce Joel Embiid Injury Update for Bulls Game

It has been another injury-riddled campaign for Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid. He has missed the last 13 games due to a strained right oblique, which is the latest of a series of injuries for Embiid this season.

Entering Wednesday's matchup against the Chicago Bulls, the former NBA Most Valuable Player has averaged 26.6 points on 49.5% shooting, 7.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.1 blocks and 1.3 three-pointers in 31.2 minutes per action. Embiid has played in just 33 out of the Sixers' 72 games thus far.

The good news for Philly is that Embiid has finally recovered from his oblique issue.

The Sixers are coming off a 123-103 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday. They dropped to 39-33 and remain seventh in the Eastern Conference. As of writing, they are one game behind the sixth-seeded Atlanta Hawks for the final playoff spot in the East.

The 76ers announced right before tip-off that Embiid has been cleared to play. He is set to return after a month-long absence. Embiid was named a starter for Wednesday's game against the Bulls.

Another major development for the 76ers is the return of Paul George, who is coming off a 25-game suspension. The nine-time All-Star was punished by the NBA for violating the league's anti-drug program.

George is also set to return on Wednesday night against the Bulls, meaning the 76ers get two stars back. This represents a massive boost for Philadelphia as the NBA playoffs approach. Including Wednesday's contest, the Sixers have just 10 games left in the regular season.
